In Kristina’s own words

I’m Kristina Scaglione, LCSW-R, Co-Founder and Co-Clinical Director of Root & Rise Clinical Specialists. I work with adults and couples, particularly those navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship patterns, emotional regulation, major life transitions, and the pressure that often comes with being the person who seems to “have it together.” My style is direct, engaged, and human. I don’t believe therapy should be passive or one-size-fits-all. My work integrates trauma-focused, evidence-based, and holistic approaches, including EMDR, DBT, and EFT, with honest conversation, practical strategies, and some humor when it belongs in the room. Root & Rise was built around that same philosophy, but our practice extends well beyond my individual specialties. Our clinical team works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families and includes clinicians with specialized training in trauma, anxiety, relationships, neurodiversity, adolescent and young-adult concerns, life transitions, and other complex emotional and relational needs. Rather than expecting every therapist to be the right therapist for every person, we focus heavily on fit. When someone reaches out to Root & Rise, we help determine which clinician, approach, and level of care makes the most sense for what they’re actually looking for. We offer in-person and telehealth services through our Port Jefferson, NY, and Boca Raton, FL, practices, with telehealth availability across multiple states. Root & Rise is a private-pay practice, allowing our clinicians and clients to make treatment decisions together without insurance dictating the course of care.
