What is actually on your profile
- A license receipt. The state, the register we checked, the date we checked it, and the standing that register returned. Not a badge — a receipt, with the date carrying the weight. See exactly what we check →
- Your own words. Your bio, your focus, how you work, in your voice. Attribution says plainly whether you wrote it or we compiled it from your public professional site.
- Direct contact. Real anchors to your website, booking page, email or phone. The person leaves Couch Commons for an address you control.
- Facts with dates. Availability, fees, insurance and telehealth are clinician-stated claims and are labeled and dated as such — never presented as something we checked.

Start membership
Add a card through Stripe and choose $19.99 monthly or $179.91 annually; the first charge is made at checkout. First 100 therapists: your first year is free on the monthly plan. It's applied at checkout; no code needed. Then $19.99 a month unless you cancel.

Build the profile
You write it, or you answer three plain questions and edit the draft we write back. Either way the final words are yours and you approve them before anything is public.

We check the license
We match your name, profession, jurisdiction and status against the state's own register — NYSED in New York — and record the date. Your license number is how we search, and the receipt prints it.

The profile publishes
Once you have approved it. It shows your license check status and date (checked or pending); a failed check takes it down.
What we will not tell you
Paying is not being published.
Membership starts when you check out. Publication waits on a license the state register confirms. If it cannot be confirmed, you keep the membership and do not get a listing or a license-check receipt.
We cannot promise you clients.
No directory can, and one that does is selling you something else. What we can promise is that nobody paid to be in front of you in the results, because that position is not for sale.
We do not stand between you and the person.
Your profile links directly to your own site, booking page, email or phone. Messages never come through us. We count how many times a link was used on a given day. The count holds nothing about who used it.
You can leave with your work.
Your writing is yours, and the canonical URL of anything you publish here can point at your own site. Cancelling ends the membership; it does not hand us anything of yours.
