Couch Commons is designed to work across different devices, input methods, and ways of reading. This page describes the practices in the current public site without claiming that every barrier is already resolved.
Practices in the current site
- A skip link lets keyboard users move past repeated navigation.
- Pages use headings and landmarks so their structure can be navigated without relying on visual layout alone.
- Links, buttons, and form controls use visible text or accessible names, with visible keyboard focus.
- The animated homepage includes a pause control and a reduced-motion mode.
- Core public information remains available as text and does not depend on video or animation.
What still needs continuing review
Automated checks cannot prove that a whole journey works well with assistive technology. Couch Commons still needs repeated manual testing with screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom, reduced motion, and narrow screens as pages and content change.
